Alanis Nadine was born 1 June 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek name is a feminine version of her father's name: Alan. Georgia is the full name of her mother and she shares two brothers named Chad Wade and Chad Wade. She learned to play the piano in her early years, aged 6 and then took up guitar when she was 21.
