Awkwafina has been described as an American performer and actor who began her career with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. After classical and Jazz training She delved into hip-hop in her teen years. While in college, she concentrated on her studies. She majored both in women's study and journalism. In a short period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. The focus on music until she finished her studies. The actress made headlines in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
